Our Story

Our culinary adventure kicked off January 2024 with pop-up events at Xocolatte, a vibrant coffee shop in Bushwick, Brooklyn, where we proudly served our famous Mushroom Based, Vegan Friendly, Pozole Verde. As our passion for Mexican cuisine flourished, we confidently transitioned to Sabor a Mexico II, in the Upper East Side, enabling us to expand our menu, cater private parties, and organize dynamic events that showcase the richness of Mexican culinary traditions.

"Mushroom-based" refers to the use of mushrooms as a key ingredient, showcasing their unique flavors and nutritional benefits. "Vegan-friendly" means that the items are made without any animal products, making them suitable for those following a vegan diet. Together, these terms highlight a commitment to plant-based eating that promotes health and sustainability while celebrating the versatility of mushrooms in delicious cuisine.

Why Vegan-Friendly?

After thorough research and personal experiences, we determined that omitting meat was the best choice for fulfilling our vision. It is important to clarify that Vegan is a life choice and is distinct from the culinary  'Vegan.' Our use of 'vegan-friendly' is our way of honoring those who embrace Veganism while also welcoming individuals with diverse dietary preferences.

Why Mushrooms?

Mushrooms are a nutritional powerhouse, packed with vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants, essential to the human body, low in calories, and a good source of protein. Their overall health benefits include immunity boost, lower blood pressure, support of a balanced diet, gut support, brain development, and nerve regeneration.
